Head outside to an open space with room around you and the wind at your back, so the smoke drifts away from you and the camera. Hold the smoke bomb at arm's length, pointing up and away from your face and anyone nearby. Get your photographer or camera rolling first, since it runs for a full 60 seconds and you'll want all of it. When you're ready, pull the ring to activate and let the colour pour out. Hold it out to the side as it burns, and never point it toward yourself or others.
Safety
For outdoor use only, in an open space away from faces, indoor areas, dry grass and anything flammable. Hold it at arm's length by the base, keep children back or supervised, and stand upwind so the smoke blows away from you. The smoke isn't for inhaling, so don't use it in an enclosed space. It gets warm in use, so hold it by the designated end and set it down or dispose of it safely once it's finished. One smoke bomb is a single use.
