Designed for early testing, made for peace of mind.
Anyone who's been through the two-week wait knows the maths. Boxed supermarket tests cost a small fortune, so you end up rationing them, waiting an extra day you didn't want to wait, then caving and paying $15 for a single answer.
Meet HcgDetect, our early detection pregnancy test strips. They read down to 10 mIU of hCG, which puts them among the most sensitive tests you can use at home, sensitive enough to pick up a pregnancy a few days before your period is due. You collect a small urine sample, dip, and read a clear control and test line in 3 to 5 minutes. No app, no reader, no waiting room.
Because they're strips rather than bulky boxed tests, they're affordable enough that you can actually test when you want to, early in the morning, again in a couple of days, without every test feeling like a decision. Available in packs of 10 and 20, they're easy to keep on hand right through your cycle. And one thing worth knowing if you've been using our OvaDetect strips to track ovulation, hCG is a different hormone to LH, so here even a faint second line is a positive. If you see anything next to the control line, it's worth testing again to confirm.
Whether you're testing on a hopeful morning or quietly counting down the days, HcgDetect is ready when you are. Because you deserve a test that's as ready as you are.
- Ultra-sensitive to 10 mIU for early detection at home
- Clear results in 3 to 5 minutes with no reader needed
- Affordable enough to test early and often, in packs of 10 and 20
About HcgDetect
How early can I test?
From around 10 days after ovulation. Because HcgDetect reads down to 10 mIU, it's sensitive enough to pick up a pregnancy a few days before your period is due. If you test very early and get a negative but your period still doesn't arrive, test again in a couple of days, as hCG roughly doubles every 48 hours in early pregnancy.
What does a positive look like?
Two lines. Unlike ovulation strips, where the test line needs to be as dark as the control, with a pregnancy test even a faint second line counts as a positive. If you see any line next to the control line, treat it as a likely positive and confirm with another test in a day or two.
When's the best time of day to test?
First thing in the morning, especially when testing early. Your first urine of the day is the most concentrated, so hCG is easiest to detect then.
Why are strips cheaper than boxed tests?
You're paying for the test itself rather than the plastic housing and packaging of a supermarket test. The strip does the same job at a fraction of the cost, which is exactly why they suit testing early and often.
What if a line appears after a few minutes?
Read your result within the 3 to 5 minute window. A faint line that only shows up well after that can be an evaporation line, which is the strip drying out rather than a true positive. If you're unsure, test again with a fresh strip.
Can I use these alongside ovulation strips?
Yes, they're a natural pair. Many people track their fertile window with OvaDetect, then use HcgDetect a couple of weeks later to test for pregnancy. The two test for different hormones, LH for ovulation and hCG for pregnancy.
