How to use it

Time your insemination with a positive ovulation test (LH surge). Collect sperm in the provided cup. Draw it into the syringe. Lying flat, gently place the syringe near the cervix and release. Stay lying for 20–30 minutes after. Your disc (disposable Softdisc or reusable Origin) can be inserted to hold sperm in place. Full instructions are in the box and we're a message away.

Materials & safety

All items are medical-grade, sterile, and body-safe. Syringes and specimen cups are single-use. The OvaDetect strips are individually foil-sealed. The disposable Softdiscs are single-use; the Origin reusable disc is body-safe silicone, designed for repeated use. Latex-free. Made specifically for fertility use.

Step by step: home artificial insemination

Whether you call it an insemination kit, a conception kit or a baby making kit, the stellar has everything: insemination syringes, 50 ovulation strips, sterile specimen cups, pregnancy tests, and your choice of disposable Softdisc or reusable Origin disc. Nothing missing, nothing to restock mid-journey.

Created by women who conceived through the process themselves, every item has been handpicked with comfort, clarity, and confidence in mind.

Is this an IUI kit? What about IVF?

These are the three terms people most often search when looking for what The Stellar does and they mean different things:

IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) happens entirely in a clinic. Eggs are retrieved, fertilised in a lab, and an embryo is transferred back. It cannot be done at home. If you've searched "home IVF kit" or "IVF kit" - what you're actually looking for is a home insemination kit like The Stellar.

IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) also requires a medical professional, as sperm is placed past the cervix directly into the uterus using a catheter. Home "IUI kits" online are actually ICI kits including ours.

ICI (Intracervical Insemination) also called intravaginal insemination (IVI) is what The Stellar performs. Sperm is placed at the entrance to the cervix using a round-tipped insemination syringe. It's safe, effective, and the standard method for all legitimate home insemination kits. This is exactly what Taryn and Kat used to both conceive at home.

So if you've been searching for a home IUI kit, ICI kit, or IVI kit, The Stellar is your answer.

Do I need a sperm donor?

The Stellar includes everything except the sperm itself. It's designed to work whether you're using a known donor (a friend or family member), an anonymous donor through a fertility clinic, or a partner's sperm. If you're navigating the donor process for the first time, we've put together a guide to help - read our donor article here. What The Stellar gives you is the complete artificial insemination equipment to do the procedure itself at home, in your own time.

- Our largest kit, ideal for longer TTC journeys or multiple cycles
- Supports sperm placement and retention during insemination
- Everything you need, nothing you don’t

Frequently asked

About the stellar kit

Can I use this kit for self insemination at home?

Yes, The Stellar is specifically designed as a self insemination kit. Everything you need for nine rounds of at-home insemination is included, no extra purchases needed.

What is the difference between the disposable Softdisc and the reusable Origin disc?

Both are designed to hold sperm in place after insemination. The disposable Softdiscs are single-use and require no cleaning. The reusable Origin disc is made from body-safe silicone and can be used again across multiple rounds. The Origin comes in two sizes: Large (same size as the disposable Softdisc) and Small. Choose whichever suits your comfort and preference at checkout.

What are OvaDetect ovulation strips?

OvaDetect is Hapū Helpers' own LH ovulation test strips, designed specifically for those trying to conceive. They detect your LH surge: the hormonal signal that occurs 24–36 hours before ovulation, so you can time your insemination for your most fertile window. The Stellar includes 50 strips, giving you plenty to track your cycle accurately across multiple months.

Is home insemination the same as IUI?

Not exactly. Clinical IUI (intrauterine insemination) is performed by a doctor. Home insemination using The Stellar is intracervical insemination (ICI) is a safe, effective method you can do yourself. Many people search for an "IUI kit at home" and ICI is the at-home equivalent.

How many cycles does The Stellar cover?

The Stellar covers nine insemination rounds nd 50 OvaDetect ovulation strips, making it suitable for approximately three full cycles of tracking and inseminating. It's our best-value kit for those who want to give their journey the best possible run.

Can same-sex couples or solo parents use this kit?

Absolutely. The Stellar was created by a same-sex couple (Taryn & Kat) and is used by LGBTQ+ couples, solo parents by choice, and couples of all kinds. However you're building your family, this kit is for you.

Does an at-home insemination kit work?

Yes, at-home insemination kits are effective when used correctly, especially when timed around ovulation. Success depends on factors like timing, sperm quality, and overall fertility. The Stellar gives you the supplies and the ovulation tests to give every round the best possible chance.

Is at-home insemination safe?

At-home insemination is generally safe when using sterile, single-use equipment and following proper instructions. It's a simple, low-risk option for many people, especially when done carefully and with good hygiene practices. You can read more here - AI processes and methods.
